Phillip Herfendal is proud to serve as the new principal of Panorama Middle School. Originally from Minot, North Dakota, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Minot State University and moved to Colorado Springs with his wife in 2008. In 2016, he earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and obtained his Principal’s License.

For the past 18 years, Mr. Herfendal has served the Harrison community as a science teacher, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal at Harrison High School. He brings extensive experience in instructional leadership, data-informed school improvement, restorative practices, and building positive, student-centered school cultures.

Mr. Herfendal believes middle school is a pivotal time for students and is committed to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every student feels known and challenged to succeed. He values strong partnerships with families and the community and looks forward to working collaboratively with staff, students, and families.

Outside of school, Mr. Herfendal enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters.
