Health & Wellness
D2 works to support the health and well-being of all students as part of our whole-child approach to education.
It is very important to communicate your child's health care needs with the school staff. Your child's health history should be reviewed and updated annually. If your child has an allergy (such as food allergy), asthma, seizures, diabetes, or any other significant medical condition, please ensure that your child's school has all pertinent information to help us provide a safe and healthy environment for your student.
Meal Modifications
All meal modification requests are processed by the D2 Nutrition Services Department. Information about the meal modification process and required forms may be found on the "Menus" page under "Allergy Information."
The Medical Disabilities: Medical Statement for Meal Modification form must be filled out by the student's healthcare provider, and processed with the Nutrition Services department before any breakfast or lunch meal modifications may be made.
Though meal modifications are processed through the Nutrition Services department, please notify your student's school nurse and/or health technician that they require a meal modification. This will help us, help you during the meal modification process, and help us to ensure your student is always safe at school.
Healthy for School - when to keep students home
Our priority is to keep your children healthy and in school. One way we can all work together to do this is to prevent the spread of illnesses. If your child is not feeling his/her best please use the following guidelines to determine whether or not his/she should be in school.
How Sick is Too Sick

For more information about how communicable diseases are managed in the school setting, please see the current CDPHE School and Childcare Guidelines.
Vison & Hearing Screenings
You will be notified if your student does not pass either the vision or hearing screening. If you receive a referral letter, you will need to make an appointment with an eye specialist or audiologist for further evaluation as needed. Please contact your student's school nurse or health technician if you need assistance finding affordable eye exams and glasses. We have access to vision exam and glasses resources that you may be eligible for!
These annual screenings are required by the state, and may begin as early as August. If you would like for your student to not participate, you must notify the school nurse or health technician before the beginning of each new school year.
